Job Summary

Reporting to the Group Chief Finance Officer, the Financial Manager will support the Finance Department in preparing a full set of financial statements in line with IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP). This is a full-time, onsite role based in Tanzania.

The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, provide strategic insights to management, and support informed decision-making. The role involves managing day-to-day finance operations, implementing strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The Financial Manager will also liaise with key external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and banking partners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and support external audits
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzania tax laws, filings, permits, licensing, and company policies
  • Maintain a solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP and ensure their consistent application

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Insights

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making
  • Advise management on financial strategies, risks, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with departments to align financial planning with overall business objectives

3. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Manage treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with banking partners
  • Optimise liquidity management and ensure adequate funding for business operations

4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and cost management systems
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks across the business

5. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Work independently and deliver results with a high degree of self-reliance
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across finance and operations
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies as required
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the CFO

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5–6 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Solid understanding of Tanzania tax laws, IFRS, and GAAP
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Self-reliant with strong time management and results-driven approach
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience in the gaming, fintech, or digital media sectors in East/West Africa
  • Familiarity with multi-country or Pan-African financial operations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment
