Job Title: Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Finance Manager / Management

Job Purpose:

To maintain accurate financial records, support financial reporting and accounting operations, and ensure compliance with applicable Rwandan tax and fiscal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.

● Record daily income, expenses, purchases, sales, payments, and receipts.

● Prepare and maintain general ledger, journals, and supporting accounting schedules.

● Perform bank, cash, supplier, and customer reconciliations.

● Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.

● Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.

● Follow up on outstanding customer balances and supplier payments.

● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

● Assist in preparing budgets, cash-flow reports, and financial forecasts.

● Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.

● Ensure compliance with Rwandan tax and fiscal regulations and support timely tax declarations and payments.

● Maintain accurate records required for tax and statutory reporting.

● Assist with payroll-related accounting and statutory deductions where applicable.

● Monitor cash transactions and maintain proper cash records.

Qualifications & Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

● Professional accounting qualification or progress toward one is an advantage.

● Previous experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting.

● Strong knowledge of Rwandan tax and fiscal regulations.

● Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

● Good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
