About the Role

We are hiring two Internal Audit Managers to join our Internal Audit (IA) team—a group of dedicated professionals focused on evaluating and strengthening our internal control systems.

As a key leader within the IA function, you will oversee audits covering inventory management, system processes, financial and business operations. You will directly manage 2–3 team members and report to the Senior Finance Director. This is an on-site position based in either Nairobi, Kenya or Kigali, Rwanda, and includes regular field travel.

Responsibilities

Audit Oversight & Leadership

  • Lead internal audits focused on inventory, revenues, and systems such as ERP, POS, and inventory management software.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify business, financial, and technological vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of internal control systems.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address weaknesses and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accounting policies, and internal procedures.
  • Guide and mentor the IA team, fostering professional development.

System & Process Reviews

  • Audit tech-enabled processes, especially during transitions to new systems.
  • Analyze the interaction between human workflows and automated tools.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance security, efficiency, and internal control effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in internal audit, including 3+ years in an African context (or relevant transferable experience)
  • Master’s degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CIA, ACCA)
  • Deep understanding of risk-based auditing principles
  • Experience auditing internal control systems during tech upgrades or transitions
  • Strong background in inventory audits in manufacturing or retail environments
  • 5+ years of people management and team leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working in or with One Acre Fund countries of operation
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills

Job Location

  • Regular travel required to field locations
