Job Description

The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations across all aspects of the business in Rwanda across borders. This role requires deep knowledge of local operational practices, regulatory frameworks, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategic, and has a proven track record of driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Leadership: Manage, monitor, and optimize daily operations to ensure efficiency and high performance.
  2. Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  3. Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, control costs, and ensure financial sustainability of operations.
  4. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all operations comply with Rwandan laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  5. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team; define KPIs and monitor performance.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement best practices to enhance productivity and service delivery.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with suppliers, partners, government authorities, and internal teams to drive seamless operations.
  8. Reporting: Prepare and present operational reports, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of operations management experience, with significant exposure to Rwandan local logistics operations.
  3. Strong knowledge of Rwandan business practices, regulatory environment, and operational challenges.
  4. Experience managing teams and multiple operational functions.
  5. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with operational management tools is a plus.
  7. Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and adapt to a dynamic business environment.
  8. Very good in coordination, documentation, customs clearing, transport, and customer handling
