Direct Aid Rwanda invites qualified, committed, and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Teacher of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies to serve at Nega School and Al Huda School. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies while promoting academic excellence, moral values, and the holistic development of learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Arabic Language and Islamic Studies in accordance with the approved school curriculum.
- Teach the Holy Qur’an, including proper recitation and the basic rules of Tajweed.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments, examinations, and students’ progress reports.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic performance and provide appropriate support where necessary.
- Create and maintain a positive, disciplined, and learner-centered classroom environment.
- Utilize modern teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance learning.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and co-curricular programmes.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the school administration.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the School Head Teacher or the school management.
Minimum Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, or Education with a specialization in Arabic Language or Islamic Studies.
- A teaching qualification or Teacher Training Diploma is an added advantage.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies.
- Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic.
- Ability to teach the Holy Qur’an and the basic rules of Tajweed.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare lesson plans, examinations, and educational reports.
- Competence in using educational resources and modern teaching technologies.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
