Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, proper financial reporting, effective cash-flow management, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations. The role will support management in making sound financial and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain proper records of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, receivables, and payables.
- Monitor rental income, property-related expenses, investment income, and other revenue streams.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial plans.
- Reconcile bank accounts, property accounts, supplier accounts, and other financial records.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable and ensure timely collections and payments.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with Rwanda Revenue Authority requirements.
- Assist with audits by preparing financial schedules, supporting documents, and required reports.
- Monitor the financial performance and profitability of real estate projects and investments.
- Maintain accurate records of company properties, fixed assets, and related financial information.
- Review financial transactions and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and control weaknesses and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, investment, or a related industry.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and financial controls.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
